Yet another home-grown comments feature for TAMB

Greetings. I have put together yet another home-grown system for handling comments in Thingamablog. My system has the following characteristics:
The code requires the commenter to solve a Captcha puzzle in order to post the comment.
The comment is automatically emailed to me.
The comment is instantly added to the blog without requiring approval.
I can easily remove/edit comments by editing a text file.
I have tight control of the code, so I can make it do what I want.
I did not write all of this code myself, but instead stitched together two pieces of code that are available on the net, one of them mentioned on this forum, Notes From James,
http://www.ghofulpo.com/james/archives/2006/10/entry_114.php
and the other is from TheCAPTCHA.com
http://www.thecaptcha.com/
The details of what I changed and how it works are on my blog, Thingamablog Blog,
http://www.thekimerers.com/brian/blogs/TAMB/archives/2010/01/entry_73.php
I put this together because I wanted to have a simple system of comments that is under my control. I did not want to use an external service, and I did not want to install a complex set of utilities that I do not understand. This system appears to work OK, although I am sure there are still some bugs in it.
Understanding it requires an understanding of html, php, Thingamablog, etc. etc.
This is probably not for everybody, but it illustrates how flexible the TAMB blogging system is.
